It's official! Caitlin is now the proud owner of her driver's license! (GASP!!) She went today to take the driving test--the examiner said she did very well. When I found out she had passed, my heart started beating 100 mph. She came by work to show me and when I asked her if she was driving herself home, her eyes got really big--like the light bulb came on. She said, "Oh, yeah! I can drive!" Then she said, "I'm going to drive around a little bit to get used to dad's truck". Everyone in the room said my face went white. I began to stutter..."o-o-o-o-kay. Be careful. I love you and trust you."
When I left work, I went through the very curvy part of the road and saw 4 wheels sticking straight up in the air. I forgot to continue breathing. It wasn't her! When I got home at 3:30, the truck wasn't in the driveway. As I got out of the van, I heard sirens very close by. My breathing became erratic again. It is going to take some getting used to.
This is a huge milestone for her. I am very proud of her. It will take me a long time to remember to breathe when she leaves the house. I will pray every minute until she's home safe.
Feeling older by the minute,
Glynis
